Building the Nishikoi Website

About fifteen years ago my predecessors at Nishikoi Aquaculture Ltd. Decided they ought to have their own web site. They were not confident in the providers at the time and so decided they would build their own site in house. The website was originally built using Java script. I’m told this took some long gruelling hours to learn and then build. They were happy with the out come although it did cost a lot in the long term.

Over time they decided to have an out sourced designer look after the site. However when I joined the company, if ever we wanted to update the website we were reliant on the designer and we had to fit in with their schedule. Often it become frustrating as this could take a couple of weeks as they had other website’s to look after too, it would have been a lot easier if we were able to edit the website ourselves, instead of relying on someone else.

My employer asked to attend a website training day with The Nice Computer Man. This was a one day course where I would learn to build and maintain Nishikoi’s Website. On the day I was guided through step by step on how to create sections for my website through the back end by using the easy to use control panel, upload pictures and to publish written information on our company and products.

Help and support was at hand throughout the day ensuring I had a stress-free and enjoyable time creating my website. After spending the morning learning the basics of creating the website we stopped for a break and complimentary lunch. The afternoon was spent developing the site further and getting used to the program. There was plenty of time to speak one on one with the trainers and get the answers to anything we were unsure about.

By the end of the day I was extremely pleased with the results and that I had managed to build a great website from scratch all it needed was few final touches and it was ‘live’. Any changes are now made instantly by me.
